Trial and subscription
Is Mazí free?
No. Mazí has a 30-day free trial with every feature unlocked, and after that it needs a subscription. There is no free plan, and there are no ads.
What plans are there?
A monthly plan and a yearly plan, after the 30-day free trial. Google Play shows the price for your country before you subscribe.
Do I need a card to start the trial?
No. The trial starts when you create your account, needs no payment details, and never turns into a paid subscription by itself.
What happens when the trial ends?
Your household becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted: everyone can still open the app and see every list, task, recipe and event. Adding and editing come back the moment anyone in the household subscribes.
Does everyone in the family need a subscription?
No. One subscription covers the whole household, up to eight people, and the people you invite pay nothing. The subscription belongs to whoever bought it, so if that person leaves the household, it goes with them and the household needs another subscriber.
How do I cancel?
In Google Play, under Payments and subscriptions. Settings in Mazí links straight there. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
The household
How do people join my household?
Create a household and share its invite code. Anyone who enters the code joins and sees the household's shopping list, tasks, recipes and calendar. You can change the code or remove a member at any time from Settings.
How many people can be in one household?
Up to eight.
Can I be in more than one household?
No, one at a time. You can leave a household from Settings and then join or start another one.
Do children need their own account?
Everyone who joins signs in with their own email address, and accounts are meant to be created by adults. A child's appointments and activities can still go on the shared calendar without the child having an account.
Privacy and your data
Who can see what we add?
Only the members of your household. That is enforced by access rules in the database itself, not just hidden in the app. Photos you attach to shopping items are kept in private storage that only your household can read.
Does Mazí show ads or track me?
No. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, no analytics or tracking tools, and no location collection. Your data is never sold or shared, and it is never used to train anything.
Where is our data stored?
Your household's lists, tasks, recipes, events and photos are stored in the EU, on servers in Ireland.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, under Settings, then Delete account. The account deletion page explains what is removed.
The app
Is there an iPhone app?
Yes. Mazí is on the App Store and on Google Play, and Android and iPhone members share the same household.
Does it sync with Google Calendar?
No. Mazí has its own shared family calendar, colour-coded by who added each event. It does not import from or write to Google Calendar.
What notifications does it send?
Only the ones you switch on: one morning digest of what is due today, reminders for calendar events, and a notification when someone assigns you a task.
What does Mazí mean, and is the app in Greek?
Mazí (μαζί) is Greek for together. The app itself is in English for now.
